The college hosted an on-site evaluation for reaccreditation in November 2023, leading to continued full approval status from CCNE.Monday, May 20, 2024 3:36 PM
Following the scheduled on-site evaluation for continued accreditation with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), the Board of Commissioners with CCNE acted to grant full approval and continued accreditation to both track options for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree program. This includes the pre-licensure BSN tracks offered at the Denver and Houston campuses, as well as the post-licensure RN to BSN offered through distance education from the Denver campus.
The CCNE Board of Commissioners’ findings come after the evaluation review team’s visit to the Denver campus in the fall of 2024 that included discussions with students, faculty, staff, and community partners of both campuses. The college prepared a self-study report that was submitted to the review team and CCNE in advance of the visit that described the program’s compliance with the accreditation standards of CCNE.
The Board of Commissioners at CCNE met in April 2024 and agreed with the review team’s recommendation that the program “substantially complied” with the standards for accreditation. The BSN program’s accreditation is now extended until June 30, 2034.
Denver College of Nursing would like to thank the efforts of the members of the on-site review team for their dedication of time and efforts in a smooth and successful evaluation visit.
